There are various projects functioning under AIESEC Chandigarh-Project FOOTPRONTS (for children rights), Project PRAGATI (rural development),Project ASK (HIV/AIDS awareness). The other project under AIESEC Chandigarh worked for HIV/AIDS awareness only. But the collaboration with HSACS (Haryana State AIDS Control Society) required a new job role to be defined- documentation. This lead to the formation of Project GENESIS which is mainly an AIDS awareness project but includes the research and documentation of the working of NGOs involved with HIV/AIDS awareness in areas in and around Chandigarh.
For this, the Project GENESIS partners with various AIDS awareness related NGOs across the city and provide them with interns from various countries who, in turn, go to the respective NGOs and work with them for a week and on the basis of their knowledge and experience, give a detailed report about the NGOs working and impact to the main head office in Chandigarh. These interns also take part in the events and counseling sessions organized by different NGOs and interact with AIDS patients and High Risk Groups (HRGs) and help in spreading more awareness about HIV/AIDS and thus, create a positive impact on society
